Hi! Yes, this is my first channel, and I’ve decided to create it just to try, to dabble my feet in this emerging market. I believe that it’s possible to build good media on Telegram.
What topics do you write about on your channel? And why have you decided to choose it?
I write about good things that happen in the world. I want to build an engaged community and give people a chance to turn away from the negative that usually prevails in the news.
How have you gotten your first free followers?

Leo: I was judging channels by their activeness. I preferred the ones who didn’t participate in cross-promos. As for topics, I tried curious facts; a few channels with memes, quotes, and political channels (to attract the American audience); English language; and traveling. Share the numbers — how much have you spent on all this, and how many followers have come to your channel?
I spent 400 dollars and in eight days of advertising, I jumped from seventy to 6,400 followers. I didn’t count the cost of each follower from each channel, since many admins still can’t use these recently launched invite links, and it would majorly complicate the process. In general, the cost was between $0.004 and $0.1 and was mostly around $0.07, and the last day, when I bought most of my ads, it came up to $0.063.
How was the communication with other channel owners?
Thanks to Telega, the communication was cut to a minimum. We communicated only through the platform’s chat when there were some problems. It greatly simplifies the advertising process on Telegram.
Share your thoughts on how to write a good ad post. What are the rules?
The main principle is to write your ad post natively. For most channels, I had a standard message: “My friend has launched a very interesting channel…” but I fixed it a bit for political channels.

I’m generally open to relevant offers from companies; also, my readers can donate to improve the project.
I’ve noticed that you have active comments under almost every post of yours. Do you initiate these conversations or do followers get hooked on the post topics themselves?
I almost never initiate conversations. The audience is quite loyal and engaged because the channel format is very friendly, and I also moderate my channel from all types of irrelevant negativity. Most comments are not even related to the post; they just thank me for the channel overall.
What do you think — are active comments on the channel a crucial criterion for considering a channel alive or not?
Yes, definitely. I think that per every thousand views, there should at least be one person with a comment.
What are the general statistics of your channel, if you don’t mind answering?
ER (engagement rate) per 24 hours is around 35–40% and per four days — 60%. Notifications are on for 58% of my followers, from seven to 30 shares for each post. Also, 91% of the audience uses Telegram in English (30% from them are from India, 30% from the US, 15% from Africa, and 25% from other countries based on how I feel); others are Dutch, Spanish, German, French, Russian, and Italian. There is a natural outflow going on right now; it is normal after a huge ad campaign. But I think it will soon turn to positive growth since I plan to launch a few bots and think of new post formats to increase audience engagement.
And finally, can you share any secret or a lifehack on how to start your own channel and achieve success?
The best lifehack is to get followers so that you have someone to write for — then you won’t stop working on your channel. You need to start if you know what value it will bring to the reader.
